Chris Bailey (IBM)

Chris Bailey is a member of the IBM Java Technology Centre in Hursley, UK where he works as an IBM Java Customer Solutions Consultant. He has been a member of the Java development team since joining IBM in 2000 and works extensively with users to solve deployment issues when using the IBM ports of Java technology and Java Platform based products, and bringing user feedback and requirements into the IBM Java Runtimes. Chris is also the moderator of developerWorks forum entitled "IBM Java Runtimes and SDKs" and is currently focused on improving usability and cosumeability of IBM ports of the Java platform.


Dr. Doris Chen (SUN)

Dr. Chen, a staff engineer and Java Technology Evangelist at Sun Microsystems with over 10 years industry experience, her expertise includes JavaServer Faces, Java Platform, Enterprise Edition (Java EE) technologies, web services/SOA, Java ME platform wireless programming, Java technology performance tuning, grid computing, and web-based distributed computing. She speaks at major industry international conferences: JavaOne, Sun Network Conference, Software Development, etc. Doris received her Ph.D. from the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) in computer engineering, specializing in medical informatics. Before coming to Sun, Doris developed medical image compression applications and web-based network management products. Flavio Bergamaschi (IBM)

Flavio Bergamaschi is a Senior Software Engineer with the Emerging Technologies Services at the IBM Hursley Laboratory in England. Previously, Flavio worked in the development of the JavaTM Platform and held the position of Serviceability Architect and Senior Consultant for Java Technologies in IBM Software Group. Flavio is currently investigating the potential uses of user-oriented information architectures combined with content-in-flight services. Flavio also spends part of his time investigating new technologies and techniques for Sensor Networks and embedded devices.

Flavio has worked in the field of information technology since 1979 and has worked in the areas of Business Web-Applications, Stock Exchange Automation, Operating Systems, High Performance Computing, Parallel Processing, Simulation and Real Time Control Systems.

Flavio earned a Bachelor of Science in Physics from the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil.


Simon Ritter (SUN)

Simon Ritter specialises in looking at emerging technologies including grid computing, RFID, wireless sensor networks, robotics and wearable computing. Simon has been in the IT business since 1984 and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from Brunel University in the U.K.Originally working in the area of UNIX development for AT&T UNIX System Labs and then Novell, Simon joined Sun in 1996 and started working with Java technology; he has spent time doing both Java development and consultancy.
