My research interests are focused mainly on tools, algorithms and techniques for data visualization. I am a member of the computer graphics group within the CITI research centre hosted by the Department. Also, I have been carrying out some collaboration with the School of Computing at University of Leeds, UK, where I got my PhD. Further details about our research work can be found here.

Teaching

Modules that I usually teach: Computer Graphics and Interfaces, Advanced Topics in Data Visualization, Introduction to Programming, Algorithms and Data Structures.

Departmental duties

I am currently member of both Scientific and Pedagogical Committees of our MSc degree. For 2005/06 and 2006/07 sessions I was the Head of Pedagogical Committee of the BSc degree.

Other activities

I am a member of the Eurographics Association via its Portuguese Chapter. The Portuguese Chapter of the European Eurographics Associations runs an annual conference on computer graphics so I do collaborate with the organisation of such event.
