The activities are mainly focused on tools, algorithms and techniques for data visualization, geometric modeling and physically based simulation and animation. More specifically, our research interests have been the following:
- particle systems as a simulation tool for cloth modeling and animation
- algorithms for isosurface visualization, including noisy data
- automatic generation of guided tours through geometric walkthrough models
- techniques suitable for urban monitoring based on data obtained by remote detection
- landscape visualization for real-time navigation
More recently we are broadening our research interests. That is the case of:
- grid-based visualization in co-operation with fellow Parallel and Distributed Processing Systems group
- reconstruction of 3D models from images
- visualization of documents.
- general purpose GPU programming
